History
First held in 1990, the Kyiv Music Fest was founded by Ukrainian composer Ivan Karabyts, who served as the festival's musical director until 2001. Following him, Myroslav Skoryk took over the role from 2002 to 2005 and again from 2013 to 2019. Ivan Nebesnyy directed the festival from 2006 to 2012, and since 2020, Ihor Shcherbakov has been the festival's director.

The festival is conducted annually from late September to early October. It features a program that includes contemporary works by both Ukrainian and international composers. Notable venues for the festival have included the National Opera of Ukraine, the National Music Conservatory of Ukraine, the National Organ and Chamber Music Hall of Ukraine, the Kyiv Conservatory, the Lysenko Column Hall of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, and the Kyiv House of Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
