In 2011, the production of beer in Ukraine increased by 3.3%, reaching a total of 31 million hectoliters. The Ukrainian beer market experienced a growth of 5.5% in 2010, amounting to 28.3 million hectoliters, according to trade balance data. The market's value also rose by 18% to 22.4 billion hryvnias (approximately $2.6 billion).

Impact of the 2022 Invasion

In response to the onset of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, Pravda Beer Theatre temporarily halted its beer production to manufacture Molotov cocktails. The brewery also disseminated its beer recipes and artwork to craft breweries globally, encouraging them to create their versions and contribute to relief efforts for Ukraine. Many international breweries began producing beer with a portion of the proceeds directed to support Ukraine, as highlighted by the initiative brewforukraine.beer. Additionally, brewmaster Jeremy Duncan collaborated with the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Newark, which produces Chernigivske, to raise funds for humanitarian aid in Ukraine.
