Baryshivka is an urban-type settlement located in Kyiv Oblast, Ukraine, serving as the administrative center of the Baryshivka settlement hromada. As of 2022, it has a population of 10,294.
Geography
Baryshivka is situated along the Trubizh River, contributing to its geographical significance within the region.
History
Between 1921 and 1922, Baryshivka was a hub for Ukrainian Neoclassicists, including notable figures such as Mykola Zerov, Oswald Burghardt, and Viktor Petrov.
On 18 July 2020, Baryshivka ceased to be the administrative center of Baryshivka Raion due to an administrative reform in Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions in Kyiv Oblast to seven. The territory of Baryshivka Raion was incorporated into Brovary Raion.
Baryshivka maintained its status as an urban-type settlement until 26 January 2024, when a new law was enacted that reclassified it as a rural settlement.
Demographics
As of the 2022 estimate, Baryshivka has a population of 10,294, reflecting a decrease from the 2001 population of 11,178.
