Artem Oleksandrovych Dovbyk is a Ukrainian professional footballer, born on 21 June 1997, who plays as a striker for Serie A club Bologna, on loan from Roma, and represents the Ukraine national team.

Early Life and Youth Career

Artem Dovbyk was born in Cherkasy, Ukraine, and is a product of the FC Cherkaskyi Dnipro academy, having graduated from the Olympic Reserve Specialized Sports School Slavutych in Cherkasy.

He made his professional debut on 26 July 2014 against Skala and scored his first goal on 16 August in a 3–1 victory against Krystal Kherson, becoming the youngest scorer in the club's history at the age of 17 years and 55 days.

Club Career

In summer 2015, Dovbyk signed with FC Dnipro, later going on loan to FC Zaria Bălți in April 2016, where he won the Moldovan Cup.

He scored a joint team high of 6 goals during the 2016–17 season, earning the Ukrainian Premier League Best Young Player award and a call-up to the Ukraine national team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

After Dnipro's relegation, Dovbyk scored 12 goals in 13 games in the Ukrainian Second League before joining Danish club FC Midtjylland on a free transfer in 2018, where he became a national champion and cup holder.

In July 2020, he returned to Ukraine to play for SC Dnipro-1, where he became the top scorer in the 2022–23 season with 24 goals, including two hat-tricks.

On 6 August 2023, Dovbyk transferred to La Liga club Girona for a reported fee of €7 million, becoming the most expensive player in the club's history, and scored his first hat-trick on 21 January 2024.

On 2 August 2024, he moved to Serie A club Roma for €38 million, finishing his first season with 12 goals.

International Career

Dovbyk was first called up to the Ukraine U19 national team but did not play any matches.

He made his senior national team debut on 31 March 2021 in a World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan and was selected for UEFA Euro 2020, where he scored a decisive goal against Sweden in the round of 16.

In May 2024, he was called up to represent Ukraine at UEFA Euro 2024.

Artem Dovbyk is married to Yulia Dovbyk, and they have a daughter.

Honours and Achievements

Dovbyk has won several titles, including the Ukrainian Second League with Cherkaskyi Dnipro in 2014–15, the Moldovan Cup with Zaria in 2016, and multiple Danish titles with Midtjylland.

Individually, he has been recognized as the Ukrainian Premier League top scorer for the 2021–22 and 2022–23 seasons, and he won the Pichichi Trophy in 2023–24.
