Early Life

Alina Pash was born in the village of Bushtyno, Zakarpattia Oblast, Ukraine. She grew up in a family with a music teacher and a policeman, which influenced her early interest in music. Pash began singing at a young age, performing publicly for the first time at six years old. At thirteen, she traveled alone to Uzhgorod for vocal lessons every weekend, showing her commitment to her musical aspirations. Initially, she dreamed of becoming an archeologist and later a police officer, inspired by her father's profession.

In 2011, Pash relocated to Kyiv to study at the Academy of Circus and Variety Arts. During this time, she worked in various roles within the music industry, collaborating with DJs and bands and serving as a backing vocalist for artists such as Iryna Bilyk and the band Skai.

Her single 'Bitanga,' released on April 15, 2018, marked her breakthrough in the Ukrainian music scene, blending hip-hop and pop with ethnic influences. The song's success led to her being featured in the Ukrainian Forbes '30 to 30' list in 2019 as a young opinion leader.

Pash's performance on Ukrainian Independence Day in 2019, where she rapped a variation of the national anthem in front of President Volodymyr Zelensky, further solidified her status as a prominent cultural figure in Ukraine.

Eurovision and Controversy
